Hi Ladies!
I've heard lots of great things about L'Occitane skin care products but I'd never actually tried any myself so when QVC asked me to try out the Shea Skincare Discovery Collection I jumped at the chance!
L'Occitane is a range of luxurious beauty products which are made in traditional ways using the finest natural ingredients and I have to say the products definitely feel and look like luxury products.
The Shea Skincare Collection is for dry/very dry skin and normally my skin is quite oily but since being pregnant my skin has been more on the dry side so these products were ideal for me at the moment. The collection includes an Ultra Gentle Cleansing Milk 50ml, a Shea Fresh Face Water 100ml, a Shea Ultra Rich Face Cream 15ml and a Shea Fabulous Serum 7ml.

The Ultra Gentle Cleansing Milk is for normal/dry skin and contains softening shea and soothing liquorice extract, it claims to remove makeup and impurities and it certainly does the job in my opinion. You massage the cleanser in to your skin with your fingers and then wipe off with cotton pads or tissue, I wasn't sure whether this product would remove all of my makeup, especially my eye makeup but it made short work of my eyeliner and mascara and left my skin feeling really clean without stinging my eyes at all. I was very impressed and it was really nice to not feel like my skin was tight and uncomfortable after cleansing.
The next product that I used was the Shea Fresh Face Water which is used as a toner, this comes in a handy spray bottle, is alcohol free and contains shea extract and floral waters to leave the skin feeling moisturised and toned. I used this by spraying it on to cotton wool pads and wiping over my face to make sure all the cleanser and makeup was removed and it left my skin feeling really fresh and clean and ready for the serum and moisturiser. You could also use this to mist over your face if your skin was feeling dry or tight to give it a little boost of moisture.
Next up is the Fabulous Serum which is applied before the moisturiser, this product has repairing and protective properties and helps to rescue the skin from harsh conditions which is ideal for winter. It's suitable for all skin types and contains a natural origin hyaluronic acid which has a plumping effect on the skin and wheat, chestnut and walnut extracts to help regenerate the skin. It also contains 5% shea butter which restores the skins barrier function and maintains an optimal level of hydration for 24 hours. I have to say being pregnant and not sleeping very well my skin has been looking pretty dull and tired lately and this serum has definitely given it a boost, my skin looks brighter and has more of a healthy glow even though I'm still exhausted.
And last but not least is the Ultra Rich Face Cream which was voted best moisturiser for dry skin in the Elle Beauty Awards 2012. This moisturiser is for dry/very dry skin and contains 25% shea butter which intensely nourishes the skin leaving it feeling really comfortable and protected from the elements. I've actually had a really bad cold lately and as a result have a very dry and sore nose from wiping it constantly and this moisturiser worked amazingly at replenishing the moisture in my skin without stinging or irritating it as some moisturisers do when your skin is sore and sensitive. I've even converted my husband who now uses this on his skin as he suffers from really dry, peeling skin around his nose all the time (not helped by the fact that he washes his face with shower gel! Why do men do things like that?) and it's made a massive difference to his skin. If you suffer with dry skin then this is the product for you, it's fab!
Overall I've been nothing but impressed with my first taste of L'Occitane products and I'm left really wanting to try more, the Shea Skincare Collection probably won't be suitable for my skin after my pregnancy is over as I'm assuming it'll go back to it's old oily ways but that just gives me an excuse to try more products, yay! The scent of these products is gorgeous too and I'm really funny about scents at the moment as my sense of smell has gone crazy and the scent of a lot of my current skincare products at the moment makes me feel really sick but these products didn't have that effect on me at all.
If you'd like to try these products for yourself you can get the Shea Skincare Discovery Collection for just £20.88 (which I think is a bargain) from the QVC website.
Let me know if you like L'Occitane products and can recommend any other products that I should try!
